AI Augmented Perceptiveness

Examples of where AI could have helped with perceptiveness:

• MIT professor Rosalind Picard’s NeurIPS talk controversy
• Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau’s condolence video controversy

These people meant well, but they got their backlashes from small mistakes that could have been avoided (maybe talk about examples of how here). Could AI help with augmenting our perceptiveness?

A simple approach might just be asking AI to review as your audience, give you feedback from the audience, etc.

A more advanced approach might involve agentic simulation of human behavior. You can’t please everyone, but you might be able to simulate what kind of engagement you might get out of your talks/videos/publications, which might still be useful for rhetorical analysis.
